Have you been forced by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s mandatory furlough program to take a few days off? For those of you who haven’t heard, the Governator is making thousands of state workers stay home without pay two days a month (the first and third Fridays, for most employees) in an effort to save the state $1.3 billion over the next 17 months. For many employees a 10% income drop is nothing to joke about. But if there are some workers who see the furlough as a three-day weekend, have a look at Squaw Valley’s Furlough Friday ski deal.
Deal: Lift tickets for $30 each (normally $79 for adults) to all California state employees who can provide a valid state identification card or a recent (within one month) state of California paystub and valid photo ID.
When: Feb. 6, Feb. 20, March 6 and March 20 — or until the furloughs are no longer in effect.
Note: Not affected by the furlough? Squaw has several deals and discounts for other skiers & boarders including free lift tickets for all active-duty military personnel.
