Acapulco, Mexico, is a destination with one of the highest potentials for savings internationally now through early June, according to CheapTickets.com.
Among many hotels with current discounts in the seaport city, Fiesta Americana Villas is offering very good savings potential these days, particularly for families.
Deal: On a promotional page, CheapTickets cited a sample fare for this hotel being $297.54 (pre-tax) for three nights, May 22-25, 2008. I plugged those same dates into the booking engine on the site and didn’t get quite that good a deal, but it’s a pretty decent one nonetheless: $327.06 pre-tax (or $389.76 including tax). High-season rates are up to $220 per night for a double.
In addition, now through Sept. 16, 2008, the resort is offering 25% off food and beverages at onsite restaurants and bars. And families, take note: Children 12 and younger eat free when ordering from the kids’ menus; this part of the offer is good through Dec. 31, 2008.
CheapTickets brought this hotel’s savings potential to our attention, and we can generally count on them to offer one of the lower prices online when it comes to hotel shopping through a third party. But it’s still wise to look around for other deals come booking time.
I checked Expedia with the same May dates, and came up with a total of $384.36 including tax; you’d get the same food discount and same free-food-for-kids perks. It’s not a huge savings, but you know what they say about a penny saved.
