A sneak preview of ‘Bonneville’ at sea

Princess cruise ships will give passengers a sneak preview of the female-buddy movie “Bonneville” on all 16 of its ships the week of Feb. 11, 2008.

The movie stars Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Joan Allen, who take a road trip in a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville convertible.

The film will be shown in the ship’s theater and in the “Movies Under the Stars” settings, the outdoor movie theater set by the pool on some ships. There is no extra charge for the showing.

It may be appropriate for the sneak to be out at sea. So far, the word on “Bonneville,” which was shown at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival, is that the movie’s adrift.

In a review in September 2006, Daily Variety called it “a bland road movie running on empty.”
