Machias Wild Blueberry Festival
It's all about the berries -- blueberry pancakes with blueberry sausage, pie-eating contests, a cooking contest with 20 categories, an original blueberry musical comedy. Visitors also will find two food courts, one of Maine's premier footraces and more than 200 New England crafters displaying their wares.
When, where: Aug. 17 to 19, 2007; events at or around Machias' Centre Street Congregational Church.
Admission: Most events free. Blueberry pancake breakfast $7, $5 children 12 and younger. Musical $12, $5 children 12 and younger.
