Strawberry heaven at the Monterey Bay Strawberry Festival

Monterey Bay Strawberry Festival: Bushels and bushels of berries are carted out for a weekend celebration of food (strawberry tamales, even), fun (pie-eating and other berry contests), arts and crafts, live music, a carnival and more.

When, where: Aug. 3 to 5 at Ramsay Park, 1301 Main St., Watsonville.

Admission: $3 adults, $1 for kids 3 to 12, free for those younger than 3.
