Los Angeles Times

"We stayed at the Keating House on Banker's Hill in San Diego. It is a Victorian with a garden full of plants from around the world. The front porch gives you a view of the airport. It's a great area to walk around in and view the restored Victorian homes."

Keating House, 2331 2nd Ave., San Diego, CA 92101; (800) 995-8644, www.keatinghouse.com. Doubles from $115.

Ben Rogers, Anaheim Hills, Calif.

Where am I?

This is a city known for great old architecture. And it's a desert spot and has a long-standing tradition of hospitality.
