Ritz-Carlton, Moscow: What's new: This will be the first Russian property in the Ritz-Carlton family. The 334-room hotel, expected to open July 1, underwent a $350-million face-lift that now features a contemporary interior in a building that dates to the 18th century. Local color: the O2 Lounge rooftop bar, which affords views of Red Square; the $700 Czar's Breakfast, which includes a bottle of Cristal Champagne and Kobe beef steak; and the vodka sommelier at the Lobby Lounge.

Info: 3 Tverskaya, Moscow. Room rates start at $1,000 per night though there's a summer special through August of $385 per night. Call (800) 241-3333 or go to www.ritzcarlton.com.
