You love to hike and travel, but like most suburbanites you can get away only once or twice a year. So why buy camping gear or navigational devices when you can rent them? Lowergear.com, a Scottsdale, Ariz., business, takes rental orders online and by phone for items as diverse as GPS devices, bear canisters and tents. (To rent a basic Garmin GPS device costs $25 for three days; REI sells them for about $300.)

The products are shipped by UPS and include a self-addressed return label to make shipping easy. Info: (866) 994-4537 www.lowergear.com.

Where am I?

Should we take offense, order a drink, or what? That depends, of course, on where you think these words turned up.
