This Peruvian fast-food chain smokes U.S. contenders with its roasted or charbroiled chicken Anticuchos. Skewers made of beef hearts are also on the menu. Many locations in Lima. A whole roasted chicken with fries is less than $10.

T'anta Lima, 142-148 Pasaje Nicolas de Rivera El Viejo, Centro Hist rico; 011-51-1-428-3115. This is one in a chain of high-end deli cafes from Peru's renowned culinary couple, chef Gast n Acurio and Astrid Gutsche. Located downtown near the Plaza Central and Lima's stunning cathedral. Tapas , pasta and Peruvian sandwiches ( s nguches ) are served at an inviting outdoor patio. Main dishes about $10.
