Here's another way to kill time at LAX and LA/Ontario airports: Surf the Internet on your wireless device.

These airports now offer Wi-Fi in public areas, including ticket counters, baggage claim, boarding gates and restaurants. You need to have a T-Mobile Hotspot account or pay for temporary access, which costs $9.99 for 24 hours or $6 an hour plus 10 cents for each minute after one hour.

For details: (877) 822-7768 or www.t-mobile.com/hotspot.>

Where am I?

This is a city known for great old architecture. And it's a desert spot and has a long-standing tradition of hospitality.
