Wi-Fi renovations at New York's Lafayette & Bowery hotels

Both the newly opened Lafayette and the Bowery hotels were created by Eric Goode and Sean MacPherson, who run other New York venues such as the Maritime Hotel and the Waverly Inn.

Lafayette House: This 19th century town house near Greenwich Village and SoHo has been restored with just 15 guest rooms. Each room has high ceilings, antique furnishings and a fireplace; some have kitchens and gardens. Though the vibe is Old World, rooms have iPod docking stations, DVD players and Wi-Fi.

The Bowery Hotel: The red-brick building in NoHo houses 135 loft-style rooms with huge factory-size windows, hardwood floors, marble bathrooms and velvet drapes (with blackout shades for those who like a little less natural light when they sleep). Each room has flat-screen HDTV, Wi-Fi, DVD and CD players and iPod stereos.
