Renaissance luxury in Tuscany's San Gimignano

05:43 PM PST, March 01, 2007

"On a recent trip, we visited San Gimignano, a picturesque hilltop village in Tuscany. We stayed in a beautiful hotel right in town called L'Antico Pozzo. This small inn is family owned and operated and has been beautifully restored in the style of the 15th century. The rooms are elegant, the service is fantastic, and the hosts are gracious."

Hotel L'Antico Pozzo, 87 Via San Matteo, San Gimignano, Italy; 011-39-0577-94-2014, www.anticopozzo.com.

Doubles from $145.
