A hilltop charmer near Nice, France

"We discovered a beautiful, small inn high in the hills above Nice, just three miles from St.-Paul de Vence. This inn, La Colline de Vence, has beautiful rooms, all with glimpses of the Mediterranean. It is reasonably priced with a lovely breakfast served on the patio adjacent to the pool. It is a charming place with lovely hosts. We highly recommend it."

La Colline de Vence, 808 Chemin des Salles, Vence, 06140; 011-33-4-93-24-03-66, www.colline-vence.com. Doubles from $100.
