Key West Hemingway festival also rises

Hemingway Days: Hemingway-esque activities include a marlin fishing tournament, a look-alike contest, tours, exhibits, art shows and arm-wrestling. Lorian Hemingway, the author's granddaughter and a Pulitzer-nominated writer, will announce the winners of the short-story competition and read from her work.

When, where: July 17 to 22 at various Key West, Fla., locations. The short-story event is July 20 at Casa Antigua, 314 Simonton St.

Admission: Varies; free for the event at Casa Antigua.
