COASTAL CALIFORNIA | CARMEL | PHOTO GALLERIES

Carmel, California's best photography-focused galleries

The streets in Carmel are thick with art galleries, but photography-only galleries are another matter. Here are four:

Weston Gallery, 6th Avenue near Lincoln Street; (831) 624-4453, www.westongallery.com.

Photography West, Dolores Street near Ocean Avenue; (831) 625-1587, www.photographywest.com.

Robert Knight Gallery, Dolores between Ocean and 7th avenues, (831) 626-1230, www.robertknightgallery.com.

Center for Photographic Art, Sunset Cultural Center, Suite 1, San Carlos at 9th Avenue; (831) 625-5181, www.photography.org.

Also, the site www.edward-weston.com includes images and information from at least three generations of Westons, and www.anseladams.com includes Adams and other artists represented by the Yosemite-based Ansel Adams Gallery.

Where am I?

Should we take offense, order a drink, or what? That depends, of course, on where you think these words turned up.
