CALENDAR | SOUTH CAROLINA
Charleston's annual performing arts festival includes opera, dance, theater, circus theater, and classical and jazz music. Among highlights is the U.S. premiere of "Book of Longing," by Philip Glass, the first U.S. performances by Nina Ananiashvili's State Ballet of Georgia and an opera by Baroque composer Christoph Willibald Gluck.
When, where: May 25 to June 10 at theaters, churches and outdoor spaces in downtown Charleston.
