Joan Steiner's new Look-Alikes children's book in a nutshell
Joan Steiner's worldview is rather tasteful. Onions form the domes of the Taj Mahal, ribbed pasta tubes hold up temple ruins at Delos, Greece, and -- whoa, are pistachio nut shells standing in for the Sydney Opera House?
The author's fourth book for children in the Look-Alikes series, "Around the World," casts day-to-day items -- including but not limited to food -- as 40 iconic tourist sites with a wry (or is that rye?) sub- title: "The more you look, the more you see." It's silly, really, and kids no doubt will eat it up. Available at bookstores and Amazon.com.
