A 10-minute drive from Boonville, Libby's is a simple roadside restaurant serving top-notch Mexican food—try the carnitas ($11) or the daily special—and an extensive variety of Anderson Valley wines.
Hours: Open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Karen Bates, co-owner of the Philo Apple Farm, partnered with friend Sandy Mailliard to create the Bates & Mailliard Farmhouse Mercantile in a historic building, with its original shelving, on the Boonville main drag. Inventory ranges from the farm's products-chutneys, jams, syrups and juices-to candles, knives, pots and other housewares.

WHAT TO SEE & DO
The place to hike off a wine-tasting hangover is under the canopy of redwoods in Hendy Woods State Park. Located on Philo-Greenwood Road just off Highway 128, eight miles northwest of Boonville, it encompasses nature trails that wind through two virgin groves. In spring and summer, picnicking, kayaking and canoeing are popular along the Navarro River, which runs through the park.
