Oregon Holiday Ale Festival

It's billed as the only beer festival in the Northwest to be held outdoors in the dark, cold, frequently wet month of December. But organizers make this Portland event celebrating winter beers a cozy one, with a large tent, heaters and a decorated tree. Three dozen holiday-themed brews are presented.

When, where: Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 at Pioneer Courthouse Square, 701 S.W. 6th Ave.

Cost: Free admission; mug is $5; tickets for beer are $1, with one ticket for a taste and four tickets for a full mug.

Info: (503) 252-9899, www.holidayale.com.

Where am I?

Should we take offense, order a drink, or what? That depends, of course, on where you think these words turned up.
