A new generation of equipment being developed for in-flight Internet connections is cheaper, lighter and easier to install on airplanes than the first-generation system developed by Boeing. Here is a comparison of one of the new systems being developed by Westlake Village-based Row 44 and the system dropped by Boeing in 2006.
