Many airlines have waived change fees or loosened other policies for customers who are holding tickets to areas affected by the California wildfires.

Policies are continually being updated, so check with your airline for the most current information.
As of 1:15 p.m. PDT Tuesday, here were some general policies on airlines' websites. Restrictions vary; in many cases, you must rebook travel within a few days to avoid change fees:
American, www.aa.com, was waiving change fees for travel to six California airports, including Los Angeles International, through Nov. 1. An earlier policy, issued Monday, covered only four airports through Oct. 25.
Continental, www.continental.com, waived fees for San Diego's airport, through Oct. 25.
Delta, www.delta.com, waived fees for eight airports, including LAX, through Oct. 25.
Frontier, www.frontierairlines.com, waived fees for San Diego's airport, through Oct. 27.
JetBlue, www.jetblue.com, was waiving change fees "on a case-by-case basis" for travel to airports in Burbank, Long Beach, Ontario and San Diego, spokeswoman Alison Eshelman said. Customers should call (800) 538-2583 for details, she added.
Northwest, www.nwa.com, waived fees for San Diego's airport, through Oct. 25.
Southwest, www.southwest.com, is allowing customers traveling to or from airports in Burbank, Los Angeles, Ontario or Orange County, through Wednesday, to rebook without paying a fare difference, when applicable, spokeswoman Marilee McInnis said. You must call (800) 435-9792 to rebook, she said. Southwest does not normally charge change fees, she added.
United, www.united.com, waived fees for 11 airports, including LAX, through Oct. 25. It added Palm Springs to an earlier policy.
US Airways, www.usairways.com, waived fees for eight airports, including LAX, through Oct. 27.
Virgin America waived fees for flights landing at and departing LAX through Oct. 27.
