Looking for a great deal on airfare for the holidays? Fuhgedaboudit. But you still may be able to score a decent fare. Farecast.com and Priceline.com can help.

What's hot: Farecast.com had fever charts that at a glance showed when fares were high. My Nov. 9 search turned up reasonable LAX-to-Washington Dulles fares ($325 and under) for Thanksgiving week.

What's not: Priceline's calendar is not as detailed as the info on Farecast.com.

Where am I?
