Head to Washington for Barack Obama's inauguration bashes

Staying in Washington during the inauguration may not be as difficult -- or expensive -- as you may have thought. CrashtheInauguration.com connects you with area locals who are willing to let you stay at their pad (for a price) and hooks you up with maps, and event and travel info to get you around town during the biggest politico party of this century so far.

What's hot: The site is showing rooms in local homes running about $100 a night. (In some cases you'll be sharing a room and sleeping on a sofa bed 2 1/2 miles from the National Mall; in others you'll have a private room and will be close to the Metro.) Even if you already have a place to stay, this site is loaded with travel info for those who just want to be there for Barack Obama's swearing in. Check out the "Parties" section for the 411 on Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan and the U Street Corridor. It offers neighborhood descriptions, tips on where to grab a late meal or a pint and even hints on what to wear. (Yes, different 'burbs call for different outfits.) If you need only a map of the parade route, go straight to the "Crash Kit."

What's not: This inauguration guide is not your typical vacation rental website. It was created by and is tied to AirBedandBreakfast.com. All this is fine, and it's totally transparent, but those unfamiliar with how the website works should click through to AirBedandBreakfast.com's "About" or "FAQ" pages to get all the details before booking.
