Your Scene: Carlsbad s beauty comes naturally

Ralph Velasco was looking for photo ops during a drive through Carlsbad in April, when he came upon a worker tending a commercial flower farm. It's someplace he'd always wanted to photograph, and the picture seemed to set itself up naturally. "I saw the shot immediately," he said. "I'm always looking for a fairly simple subject, and this was just right." The Corona del Mar resident used a Nikon D200 for the photo, which he took in late morning.
