Your Scene: Mono Lake s otherworldly tufas

Pavan Arise of Downey took this shot of Mono Lake as he and his wife, Bhavna, were on their way to Lake Tahoe. "These projections, which are called tufas and grow underwater, are visible now because of the drastic fall of lake level," Arise said. "My wife and I were amazed at the beauty of the lake and the tufa." He used a Sony DSC-H7 camera to capture the shot.
