LOS ANGELES | HOTEL REVIEW
An infusion of cash and a renovation should get this grand dame back on its feet, but whether it's shed its orthopedic shoes for stilettos is the question.
Stats: 9500 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills; (310) 275-5200, www.fourseasons.com/beverlywilshire
Rating: Three stars*
Rooms: $525 a night to $7,500 for the 5,000-square-foot penthouse.
New and noteworthy: The name and the look have changed. It's now the Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel.
The stay: Good but not enough luxury "wow." Renovation seems half-hearted; room was oddly designed.
The scene: Almost famous.
The service: Excellent, professional.
Deal maker: Cut, the Wolfgang Puck steakhouse, is a see-and-be-seen spot.
Deal breaker: Cut was booked all weekend.
*Rating is based on the room, service and ambience, and overall experience with price taken into account in relation to quality. Five stars: Outstanding on every level. Four stars: Excellent. Three stars: Very good. Two stars: Good. One Star: Satisfactory. No star: Poor.
