Planning your Europe trip: Train or airplane?

Is it cheaper to fly or ride trains in Europe? Which is faster? The answers may be surprising once you figure in taxes, wait times and shuttling between airports and downtowns. We compared two trips, London to Brussels and London to Basel, Switzerland, using low-cost airlines one way and high- speed trains the other way. We tallied up times and costs, then assigned a "hassle factor" (1 is best, 5 is worst).

Where am I?

Should we take offense, order a drink, or what? That depends, of course, on where you think these words turned up.
