The deal: Book 21 days in advance, with no changes or cancellations, for the $159 rate. Or book any time for a $179 nightly rate. (If the latter rate is booked with a credit card, you can cancel 24 hours or more in advance without being charged.) Both rates can be booked through May 31, based on availability.
The hotel: The Sheraton Carlsbad, adjacent to Legoland, has 250 rooms, each with a patio or balcony, 32-inch flat-screen TVs, deep soaking tubs, Sheraton's signature Sweet Sleeper beds and wireless Internet access. The hotel is close to Crossings at Carlsbad golf course and Carlsbad beaches. Many rooms have ocean or fairway views.
