Ride high with a hotel special that combines an overnight stay with an unlimited one-day pass for the new solar-powered Ferris wheel and other rides at Santa Monica Pier.
The deal: The special, an exclusive for Los Angeles Times readers, is $189 a night and includes an overnight stay at the Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica. It coincides with the debut of the $1.5-million Pacific Wheel, scheduled for May 22, at Pacific Park. Guests will also receive complimentary cocktails for two at the Perla Lounge, free overnight parking and two unlimited Pacific Park passes.
The hotel: The Sheraton Delfina, renovated in 2005, sits four blocks above the Santa Monica coastline and has views of the ocean. It has a heated swimming pool, a fitness room and full business services. It is managed by the Kor Hotel Group, which owns the Viceroy and Avalon hotels, among others in Southern California.
Details: The package, which is available only for stays of one night, is offered Thursdays through Mondays from May 22 through June 30 (including Memorial Day weekend). It does not include hotel taxes or restaurant gratuity.
