Harvest Festival
When, where: Nov. 28 to 30, San Jose Convention Center.
Highlights: The 36th annual event of its kind features more than 24,000 unique arts and crafts.
Cost: $9 for adults, $7 for seniors older than 61, $4 for ages 13 to 17, and free for kids younger than 13 accompanied by an adult.

Apple Butter Festival
When, where: Nov. 28 to 30, Los Rios Rancho
Highlights: Demonstrations of apple butter making, carriage rides, pioneer crafts, games and an old-fashioned hoedown that includes live music.
Cost: Admission is free; the hoedown costs $25 per adult, $18 per child younger than 13.

Big Sur Harvest & Craft Fair
