THE BEST WAY

The Angel Island-Tiburon Ferry, (415) 435-2131, www.angelislandferry.com. Travels daily between 21 Main St. in Tiburon and Angel Island. Round-trip fares: $13.50 for adults; $11.50 for ages 6 to 12; $3.50 for ages 3 to 5; free for ages 2 and younger. Cash and checks only.

Blue & Gold Fleet, (415) 705-8200, www.blueandgoldfleet.com. Departs daily from Pier 41 in San Francisco. Round-trip fares: $14.50 for adults; $8.50 for ages 6 to 12; free for 5 and younger.

WHAT TO DO

Bike rentals available at Ayala Cove. Cost: $10 per hour or $35 per day.

Two-hour Segway tours from Ayala Cove. Cost: $65 per person.

One-hour tram tour from Ayala Cove. Cost: $13.50 for adults, $12.50 for seniors, $9.50 for ages 13 to 6; free for ages 5 and younger.

Camping: The island has 11 campsites, including a handicapped-accessible site and a kayak camp. Cost: $20 per night, May 15 to Sept. 15; $15 per night the rest of the year. The kayak-accessible site accommodates up to 20 people. Cost: $30 per night.
